Requirements
We consider a variety of factors to determine your Albert Instant overdraft limit. We offer up to $250 in Instant overdraft coverage and the Instant amount available varies for eligible members based on each individual. A few things we consider:
- Account activity: an active bank account is linked to Albert
- Transaction history: an account with a long transaction history is linked to Albert
- Direct deposit: set up qualifying direct deposits with Albert Cash to potentially raise your Instant limit
I'm "not yet eligible." Will this change?
We review your account daily. If you're not yet eligible — you may qualify in the future. If you have notifications turned on, we'll alert you if you’re newly eligible for Instant overdrafts.
Other requirements
Smart Money set to the "Smart Money" schedule is required to access Instant overdrafts. You may turn this off by contacting customer support at (639-37) or support@albert.com. If Smart Money is turned off, you will no longer have access to Instant overdrafts.
An Albert Cash account and Genius account fee are required to access Instant overdrafts.
Do you check my credit?
There’s no credit check involved - not even a soft inquiry. While members can check their credit score with Albert, this information is not used to determine your Instant limit.
Qualifying direct deposit
Qualifying direct deposits must be made by an employer, payroll provider, or benefits payer by Automated Clearing House (ACH deposit). Bank ACH transfers, federal, state or local tax refunds or credits, federal or state unemployment or short-term disability benefits, rental payments from Airbnb, VRBO, Turo, or other similar services, mobile check deposits, peer-to-peer transfers from services like Cash App, Venmo, Wise, or PayPal, business account transfers or deposits, 1099-related deposits, or other similar deposits are not qualifying direct deposits.
Even if you have direct deposit and meet the deposit requirement, other eligibility criteria may apply to qualify to access Instant.
